What do you do at Pinnacle? Amongst other things, my duties include pulling monthly financials, monitoring finances for all our locations, and offering endless support for our controller, Kristine.
What are you known for professionally? What do you have a knack for? I’m a perfectionist and incredibly detail oriented – two things that I always thought benefited me as an artist, but are turning out to be equally useful in accounting.
What do people say about you? I think most people would say that I’m creative and quiet. Paul says I should just drink more coffee.
Who have you worked with in the past? And what have you done for them? My background is rather broad – I’ve worked mostly in marketing and graphic design, but in addition, have acted as an assistant to the accounting manager and/or controller at 3 different companies.
What are you most passionate about professionally? What most excites you about your work & the contribution you can make? I enjoy the feeling that I’m contributing to something bigger than myself. The financial aspect of this industry is something that must be handled precisely and delicately. Ensuring that each client is dealt with fairly, accurately, and in such a way that doesn’t upset or fuel negative emotions during a fragile and confusing time is something that can never be taken lightly.
What are you passionate about personally? What do you really enjoy? ART, vis-à-vis LIFE. L’art est la vie; La vie est l’art (Art is life; Life is art). I enjoy watching life unfold in the things I create, whether it be something physical like a painting or something metaphysical that emerges in my everyday life.
Where can we find you when you’re not working? What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend or a Sunday afternoon? In the words of Joni Mitchell, “I live in a box of paints”. When I’m not working, I’m painting or drawing in my studio. On the weekends, you can catch me painting while listening to music, with the TV on mute.
Where did you grow up and why aren’t you there now? I was born in Chapel Hill, NC and raised there until I was seven. Ultimately, my dad’s job moved our family to Atlanta just before the ’96 Olympics!
What would be impossible for you to give up? I can’t imagine life without my family. On a serious note, if anyone took away my TV or Google Chromecast, my will to live would drastically diminish…
Anything else you’d like to tell people about yourself? Since 2011, I’ve owned and operated my own art business. In addition to selling my drawings and paintings on my website, I do freelance for various companies around the Atlanta area, and commissioned work for individuals as well as non-profit organizations. I earned my undergraduate from The University of Alabama. Roll Tide.
