What do you do at Pinnacle? I am the controller. I also handle the employee benefits (health, life, simple IRA). As the controller, I review all the financials and make sure that everything is coded correctly. I also run payroll for some of the locations, manage the bank accounts, etc. I make sure all of the income and expenses are in the correct places.
What are you known for professionally? What do you have a knack for? I’m known for getting things done. I will follow up with something until it is completed.
Who have you worked with in the past? And what have you done for them? I’ve worked with NewBridge Group as an Accounting Manager, an antique and high end furniture retailer as an Accountant (doing the same things I’m doing now), and worked for a property management company as an Accountant.
What are you most passionate about professionally? What most excites you about your work & the contribution you can make? I’m passionate about making sure everything is in the right place. It’s really important for items to be coded correctly. If your historical data isn’t in the right places, you can’t project what your future will look like. I also really enjoy working with the benefits side of things. It’s nice to be able to coordinate something that people appreciate, instead of just asking them about transactions all the time!
What are you passionate about personally? What do you really enjoy? What can’t you stop talking about? I am very passionate about my animals. I can’t stop talking about my rabbit, who is amazing. I love visiting the adoptable bunnies at the North Georgia House Rabbit Society.
Where can we find you when you’re not working? What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend or a Sunday afternoon? If I’m not traveling, which I love to do, you can find me at home sewing or working on crafts.
How long have you been doing what you do? I’ve been working in the accounting field since 2005.
Where did you grow up and why aren’t you there now? I grew up in Atlanta, and although I have left several times, I couldn’t stay away.
Any awards or medals, or even medallions? I am the proud recipient of the “Best of the Lowest” bowling award in the Pinnacle 2014 bowling tournament.
What would be impossible for you to give up? Coffee!
